About me
I started kindergarten-lessons.com with the intention of helping teachers make their classrooms a place of exploration, problem solving and creative thought processes.
My mother was a teacher and my grandmother was a teacher and I have been an educator for over twenty years. As a child, I would go to school with my mum and help her cut out shapes, put up bulletin boards, and in those days, watch in fascination as she made gelatin in cookie sheets and slowly reproduced identical worksheets one paper at a time for her students!
I have an appreciation for art and an enthusiasm for creative design. I love creating pictures for children. I have a Bachelor of Education from the University of Victoria and have completed web and print design certification courses.
I love nature, the wonderful west coast parks on Vancouver Island, BC and walking. I have a passion for drawing and design. As a child, I wanted to be an artist and am still working towards that goal. My mother was a student of the Famous Artist's home study course and I would watch in fascination as she completed her lessons each week.
I taught young children for 20 years, art to students in grades
K - 12 and adult education drawing courses. I have now stepped back from teaching full time to tutoring, coordinating international students, writing my web site, drawing, and creating designs and web sites for others.
I have always loved interacting with young children. I appreciate the way they learn, their inquiring minds and the questions they ask. I enjoy their wonder of life, their ability to live in the present, and their spontaneous and fresh artwork.
The Science Center was a favorite place in the classroom. The students would head there first thing each day, excitedly check out how their bean plants were growing, add an object to the current display, or examine the latest container of baby spiders, pond water, or other interesting creatures. And of course, they would pull me 
over to observe that day's wonderful discovery too.
