If you have decided to home school kindergarten or preschool children (or any age for that matter) you are starting a great adventure.
As someone who has been there, my advice is to relax and trust in your ability to be an educator.
Know what skills your homeschooled child needs to learn. This site is full of creative and interesting ways to teach them. Be flexible, some of your ideas will flop but home education will only get better as your skills as an educator increase.
Children need:
- to observe a given topic in a manner that engages their senses
- to ask questions
- to make collections, then sort and classify
- to make comparisons, by measuring and testing
- to make observations regarding quantity, size, position and proportion
- to learn vocabulary to describe their experiences
- to record their learning
