Crabs usually have a thick exoskeleton and a single pair of claws. They are found in fresh and salt water and may be as tiny as a pea or up to 13 feet. They like to walk sideways and have a mixed diet of plants and animals.
How to model a chiton...

Chitons live all over the world both in cold water and tropical waters. They live on or under rocks. Chitons have a shell which is made of eight separate shell plates.
They can creep along slowly on their muscular foot and stick to rocks really well. The chiton likes to graze algae-like plants off of rocks.
