Veterans Day Activities
Veterans Day Activities: bookmarks, vocabulary, marching fun, links for teachers and parents, and books.
On Veterans Day we thank and honor the men and women who served in the military. Veterans Day is observed on November 11th of each year and used to be called Armistice Day.
Veterans Day Bookmarks
Give each student a Veterans Day bookmark to color to help them remember to honor those who have served in the military. Photocopy enough sheets of bookmarks on to lightweight card for all students. Cut down the dotted lines, distribute to students for coloring.
As children color talk to them about the meaning of Veterans Day.

For a quick and easy Veterans Day activity, purchase red, white, and blue flagging tape. Cut into 2 foot lengths and tie about 6 lengths of all three colors together on one end. Give one to each student.
Play marching music and let children march and twirl their "ribbons". Twirl high, low, make circles, twirl over heads, etc.
